The Roundy Family’s A to Z (and everything in between) for 2009
A is for Allison. She was the main change in the Roundy household this year and we can’t imagine how we ever got along without her! The kids absolutely adore her and it has been so much fun to have a baby in the house again - 5 years after the hustle-bustle of our first 3! She is a spoiled, delightfully happy little girl!
B is for the "Blessing Branch" we hung in November. It was filled with 85 wonderful blessings in just 23 days!
C is for Cherish. "These are the years we’ll remember forever." We are trying to cherish and enjoy the little things we do together.
D is for Disneyland. In September, we went there for the first time and pretty much had the park to ourselves! It couldn’t have been any better! We even took the kids to their first beach! The whole trip was a blast!
E is for Energy! The kids love to ride their bikes and scooters in the front yard. Brock has even mastered the "bunny hop" on his scooter. It’s so fun to watch them play together hour after hour, day after day!
F is for our Family. We love them all, near and far, and are so grateful for all their love and support.
G is for Grass! We are always thankful for the grass! Our lawn care business is doing great and bringing in more business than we can keep up with; we are so grateful for that!
H is for Hands - dirty hands, clean hands, helping hands. 8 busy, little hands that leave hand prints everywhere!
I is for Irresistible - the only way to describe Allison! She is spunky, happy, hilarious, and just plain adorable!
J is for Jabbering! Allison is quite the "talker"- she definitely takes after Kaitlin! Alli jibber-jabbers all day long and whenever she sees Brock, she unleashes a tangent! (Probably because he is the one who always tells her "No" and picks her up and takes her away from things!) She and Cole love to mimic each other in the car.
K is for Kindergarten. Brandon and Brock both started this year. They love their teacher and love to learn.
L is for Laughter. I’m not sure who keeps us laughing the most. It might be Allison and her silly baby faces, or maybe it’s Brock and his crazy dance moves! Possibly it’s Brandon with his made-up jokes or even Kaitlin with her wild imagination and creativity! There definitely isn’t a day when we aren’t laughing about something!
M is for "Mama," Allison’s first word. Finally one of my babies said "Mama" before they said "Dada!"
N is for Not nearly enough! This year has been so busy, Cole hasn’t been able to golf as often he would like. Don’t feel too bad for him though, he still manages to play softball once a week. He’s just jealous that Ladd plays softball 3 nights a week! This year we even started golfing as a family! The kids have their own sets and who wouldn’t love golfing free at Green Spring!
O is for Overwhelmed. We are once again humbled and thankful for the blessings and miracles that have taken place in our lives this year. We are overwhelmed by the love our Father in Heaven has for us.
P is for Pine Valley. In July we were able to spend some time with our family in a cabin up there. We made some wonderful memories and had a great time, even though we never caught any fish!
Q is for Quickly! Allison will be 1 on the 10th of December! This year has sure flown by!
R is for Reading, which happens in our house a lot. Kaitlin is an amazing reader and loves to read to her brothers. She will stay awake for hours at night if we don’t catch her and turn off the light!
S is for Smiles and ours are quite the display! Kaitlin has lost 7 teeth and has 4 permanent ones back in. Brandon got one of his front teeth knocked out falling off a bunk bed and still has a huge gap, while Brock still has all his baby teeth. Allison has already gotten 7 of her baby teeth!
T is for T-Ball! This year Kaitlin, Brandon and Brock played on the Angels together and they were awesome! They had so much fun playing together and are now avid Angels fans!
U is for Up and Coming! The boys started football this year. We’re pretty sure there are some amazing athletes in those little bodies, so watch out world - the Roundy twins are coming!
V is for Vision. We are amazed at the course our life has taken and are grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ. It is so nice to see the "big picture" - who we are, why we’re here and what our purpose in life is.
W is for Walking! Allison has almost got it! She has taken a few steps to people, but mostly she just walks to Kaitlin. Within a few days, she’ll probably be running, not walking, to her big sister!
X is for eXactly the way it’s supposed to be! Hard to believe, but we were married 9 years ago in the Manti Temple! When we finally kneel down at night and listen to each of the kids saying their prayers, it is so clear that life is just as it is supposed to be - crazy, hilarious, aggravating, delightful, confusing, peaceful, joyous and about every other emotion imaginable! We wouldn’t change a minute!
Y is for BYU! We couldn’t let this Christmas letter end without proclaiming our undying love for our favorite team! Yes, they drive us crazy, but nonetheless, we always "Rise and Shout" for our Cougars!
Z is for ZOOM, which is exactly what this year did! We hope you all enjoyed as wonderful a year as we did!
Hope you have a wonderful holiday season
and a great 2010! Merry Christmas!
