Spring is a BE-A-UTIFUL Thing!

I love Spring!  I love the cool, crisp Saturday morning soccer games. I love finally being able to leave my doors open and let the cool breeze come through the screen doors.  I love laying on the trampoline trying to get a base tan;) and I love baseball!
Of all the sports, baseball isn't my favorite (basketball takes that one), but there is something romantic, almost magical about cool Spring nights sitting at the ball fields watching a game.  I know, I'm crazy!  When I sit there in my trusty chair, everything else fades away...not a care in the world as I sit and watch my boys (whether it's Cole or the twins) do their thing.  I love how natural it is to them....I love how much they love it!

This year is especially fun because Cole is coaching the boys' team again (with his trusty 'ol' side kick, Ladd!)  Those two are the greatest team of coaches!  Ladd takes care of all the technical details while Cole manages all the shoe laces, mending bruised egos, etc (that a guy without a kid would never notice)! They are great coaches, especially with the help of their team "organizer"...me.  I do all the behind the scenes work to get the team running smoothly, but then, come game night, I'm quiet as a bug, just taking in the scenes!  And I love it!

This year the boys are on the Dodgers.  I was very leery about this season because Cole wanted the boys to try-out for the AA team.  I was perfectly content with them staying down in their division.  Cole wanted them to start playing real baseball though, and the boys both wanted to try out SOOOO bad...mom was over-ruled.

Well, they did try-out, and I have to say that, even though they are only 7 - and it is a division for 9 and 10 year-olds, they looked awesome! I even had that "proud mom" moment when I had, not kidding you, 4-5 coaches come tell me that they WANTED my boys on their team and wanted me to take down their names! LOL! Imagine their broken hearts when I told them their dad was coaching!

They did great in their first game and Brock, my little lefty, even started out the game pitching! He was a little wild for a bit...but then he found his rhythm and struck 2 batters out! It was a hoot! Later in the game, Brandon came in to do some clean-up pitching. He's more consistent than Brock, but he's a little slower! He pitched great though and ended the inning! He even hit a double after that. I had another proud moment just knowing what that kid has to put up with everyday and knowing that he went out there and played his little heart out and no one knew that he even had diabetes.

It was a great game and I just can't wait to see what the rest of the season will bring!

My little lefty on the mound waiting to throw out the first pitch! Mom was sure nervous...but he was cool as a cucumber!

Getting a little pep talk from dad and Ladd

You can't see this one as well, but this is my man "B"...that's Brandon...pitching a nice one - right down the middle!
