Family Fun

In just a short amount of time, we have been overjoyed with new little babies and with lots of fun with family we haven't seen in a while. It is so much fun to watch our family growing so much! I have always wanted a big 'ol family and tons of cousins for my kids to play with.  Well, this year, we will add 4 more cousins to the mix!

The first cousin came on February 7th!
I was so lucky to get to be there during the delivery and watch this very headstrong little girl be born into the world.  Oakley was only 5 lbs, but her attitude assures she holds her own! She is as spunky as they come and my kids absolutely adore her! She had to stay in the NICU for a few days and the kids were DYING! The day she came home, Kris and Ladd were nice enough to let the whole crew come over and see her.
Brandon had the sweetest, proud look on his face when it was his turn! He had a huge smile on his face while he looked at each of her delicate, little features!

Brock was probably the most excited to hold her.  Poor guy had a little cough the week before and we weren't taking any chances....he hated the mask, but it was no holding Oakley without it....so he gladly wore it!

Allison actually got to see Oakley when she was first born and then was miserable not being able to see her again for almost a week.  She ran right in and acted like she owned the place! She loves Oakley!

Funny story! The last few weeks of Krystal's pregnancy, I had been preparing the kids for the changes that could take place.  You never know how things will change when someone has a baby...so far, Ladd and Kris have been the awesome aunt and uncle and have been able to go everywhere and do a lot with the kids. I was trying to prepare them that things might be a little different. Well, it just so happened that Cole and Allison were eating lunch in the cafeteria when Oakley was born, so they got to come see her right away.  Allison was in awe and Ladd was really sweet to pick her up and take her all around the room and show her Oakley and all the cool things.  Well, on the way home from the hospital, Alli was tired as could be, and about to fall asleep, but all of the sudden she said, " Mom...Ladd does too love me the same!" It was so sweet!

Kaitlin is so excited to be the designated babysitter.  I think she was a little shocked at just how tiny Oakley was, but Oakley was wide awake the whole time Kaitlin held her and the two of them had some sweet little bonding moments!

Next, almost 1 month later, Heather and Caleb had Madison Avery!
She weighed a whopping 9lbs 3oz! I have no idea how my sister, who is pretty small, managed to push that piggy out...but she did....and Madison is so cute!

Kaitlin and I took a girls trip up to California to see Heather and Madison (and Caleb, too!).  Allison was so sad that I wouldn't let her come with us, but I was excited for a little girl bonding! Kaitlin and I slept on the couch at their little apartment and snuggled that adorable baby as much as we could!

Madison is a funny little monkey! She had about a million nicknames (lovingly selected by her dad!) She is the strongest little cuss you have ever met and when she's hungry...you better get a move on because she goes from 0 to 10 in a hurry! Kaitlin and I were so sad to have to leave, but can't wait to let all the kids meet her when she comes to Utah in a few weeks!

When we got back from California, Lance and Shanna and the boys were here visiting.  We had so much fun letting the kids just play while Shanna and I passed around Oakley! I love the bond that cousins have. No matter how long they've been apart, they play like it was just yesterday! All of the kids are so different, but they get a long great and it was nice to spend the evenings playing games and laughing.  It was a fun week!

Plus, we got to see Dallas and Amy while we were on vacation in Midway.  They were nice enough to drive a little ways so we could meet for dinner.  It has been way too long since we've seen them and Vernal is way too far away for a day trip! Amy is due with her first baby, a little boy, in July and we can hardly wait. Amy is a short, petite little thing with dark hair and Dallas is tall and blonde, so it will be fun to see what their little guy turns out like! It was so much fun to just sit and talk for a bit...again, no matter how long it has been since we've seen eachother, it always feels like yesterday!

We have the greatest family ever and February and March were awesome months where we got to see a lot of them!
