Pretty Darn Cute

Today I went to the new portrait studio where Kiddie Kandids used to be. They lured me in by saying that if I came in, I could have a free sitting and could buy the rights to my pictures for only 80 bucks and I would also get a FREE collage! Well, the FREE part got me there, but I loved the pictures so much. I haven't ever taken Allison to be photographed professionally. I've taken them all myself. I also haven't had the kids in a studio or photographed since the boys were 2! I know, I'm a bad mom! Granted, I like the pictures outdoors with a camera that actually moves a whole lot better, but, I was pleasantly surprised by how cute they were. Please note: some of these are in their raw form, so you're going to see some border.

Date Night

Today the employees of Cole's golf course were all given an award, part of which was $15.00 worth of gift certificates to the movies! Yahoo! To make it even better, one of the guys gave him his, so he actually had $30.00. He surprised us by offering to take us all to Toy Story 3(in 2D. I'm not a big fan of the glasses. They never work for me and I just get a headache!) Ironically, just this morning I had been reading the Family Fun magazine and had seen a "how-to" on some really cute Toy Story cupcakes. After hearing that we would be going to the movies that night, the kids and I spent the afternoon making the cutest cupcakes! The kids were so excited to go to the movies. They all put on their matching Toy Story shirts from Disneyland and off we went. We all thought the movie was great, although Kaitlin and Brock both thought it was scary and have no desire to ever see it again! Sigh...I guess I'm grateful for their tenderness though! The funny thing was that all of our favorite part had to do with the alien critters and the "claw!" After we got home, the kids dove into their cupcakes! It was a fun Friday night, especially since it only ended up costing 3 bucks! I'm sure the kids are ..."eternally grateful!"...hehe! ... for the yummy cupcakes and the chance to spend date night with mom and dad! I love how each of the little alien thingy's took on a different look! I love Kaitlin's big lips!

I made the cupcakes with the super big muffin liners, so these were some big, yummy buggers!

Sunday - Bringing our crazy week to a close

It's funny, we spent all week running around - having a great time, mind you, but then getting ready for church on Sunday, we walked in and saw this. How sweet! Brock was trying to help Brandon get his top button.

I guess it just reminded my what we do all this for. I am so grateful for Sunday, for the quiet peaceful feeling in our home on that day. For the way the world just stops and it's just us for a few hours. Especially, I guess I am grateful just to be. Grateful for my blessings, for my family, and grateful to have another day to enjoy it all again!

A Very Busy Week - Friday

Saturday night we went to the Finals of the Long Drive Competition. Even though Cole didn't make it into the Finals for the long drive this year, he was still a finalist in the closest to the hole Salisbury Shoot-Out. Ironically, the lowest drive that made it into the long drive was a 347, which Cole hit on Thursday night, however, they only take the top 6 drives from each night and with the wind on Friday, Cole didn't hit as far that night. Bummer. Sometimes it's all the luck of the draw, I guess. If he would've hit his drive from Thursday night on Friday night, he might have been in it! Oh well! It was exciting for him to be in the Closest to the Hole competition, especially since, if you hit a hole in one, you won a free home from Salisbury! I was really hoping for that one! Haha! Anyway, he did great and took third. We ended up with a stash of prizes and walked away happy! Next year...we'll be back! Only next year, it's gonna be both of us!

A Very Busy Week - Friday

Finally things started to slow down on Friday. The kids and I spent most of the day at home, but then headed to the rec center to go swimming that afternoon. That evening, Cole decided to try to qualify again for the Long Drive competition, so we headed back out to Coral Canyon!

The secret weapon - fruit snacks! This was the only way we could get her to be quiet while the guys hit! Luckily the radio station had their music blaring, so we didn't have to be too quiet!

Some last minute coaching from Bryan! It was sooo windy out there that night - most of the guys weren't hitting it as far as they normally could have. Tonight he hit the radio announcer's driver and even though he loved it, the farthest drive was only 339, 2 yards out of the competition.

I love watching his swing. He's just a natural, that's all there is to it.

Kaitlin and her daddy! She is such a sweetheart. The boys went to spend the night with my mom and dad and so it was Kaitlin's turn to have a "Movie Party." We were trying to figure out how to fit the Long Drive competition, dinner and the party all in just a short time frame and it seemed like it just wasn't going to work. Cole decided that tonight was suppossed to be Kaitlin's night and decided not to go out to compete again. Kaitlin wouldn't hear of it! She wanted him to compete. So we pushed the party back a bit, ate at Arby's instead of Red Robin and daddy got to hit! I love how she supports him! He is her hero and he is one lucky daddy!

After the competition we headed home for Kaitlin's wild movie party. They watched Johnny Lingo out on the trampoline and had a blast! I know it's cliche - but girls are so different than boys! A few weeks ago, we had a movie party with the boys and their friends. I have never been so scared for my house in my life! I am quite surprised everything made it through in one piece! The girls were totally different. They were giggly and hyper, but stayed put on the tramp and ate their treats! It was a fun night!

He's so relaxed and just having a great time. It's fun to watch!

Thursday Night Ended with a BANG - literally!

Reader beware - the following pictures may cause nightmares and may even make you question how on earth Krystal and I find these two boys so dang cute...just know, they don't always look like Quasimodo! (sp?)

So Thursday night after softball (Ladd was there playing too, just on a different team this night), I get a message from Krystal that Ladd caught a ball in the right eye and that his eye and nose were bleeding all over the place. Of course, we called right away and by this time, Ladd had just gotten home. He said he didn't think anything was broken, but that his head was all numb. He also said, in typical Roundy fashion, I might add, that he wanted to keep playing, but Krystal wouldn't let him! Haha - ya think?! So now that they live just right around the corner, we ran over to see how he was. Plus, here's my thinking...when on earth are you going to have 2 grown-up brothers (well, the grown-up part is debatable!) both have black eyes at the same time?! This is definitely something we have to capture! I really was surprised at how hammered Ladd looked, but especially that nothing was broken. He is so lucky. There have been so many guys lately that have broken eye sockets catching a ball the exact same way!

I'm more than a little annoyed that I couldn't get my camera to capture exactly how bad these two looked. Cole's black eye was the worst that it had looked, but for some reason, the pictures just don't do them justice! Having said that, Krystal and I couldn't stop laughing at how scary (in general) these two looked in these pictures! What good sports to let us take the pictures and laugh!

Gotta love the tissue still in Ladd's nose! I told him to just throw in a Tampon...he was thinking about it, I could tell!

A Very Busy Week - Thursday

After cleaning up the house and getting everything loaded, we headed up to Panguitch lake. I love the drive up there. It looks like something from a puzzle. It was really windy and even though the water wasn't too cold on the shore, a week ago a man drowned when he fell out of his boat into the water, so there was no way I was letting them go swimming! We just played on the shore instead!

Allison loved the water! She was fascinated by the waves crashing on the sand!

Cole was going to be competing in the long drive competition that night, so he loosened up by hitting some balls in the water! The kids thought it was amazing! They loved trying to see the splash way out in the water!

You can see the blur of the club...but that's all!

Reminds me a little of the Statue of Liberty..hehe!

After playing at the lake for a little while, we headed up and over Cedar Breaks! It was BEAUTIFUL! We dropped down into Cedar and ate at Sizzler and then jetted back to St. George in time for Cole to compete in the Annual Long Drive Competition. Last year he took third, but this year, the Long Drivers of America used this as a qualifying event, so when they are out there hitting the ball 400yds or more, it's pretty hard for anyone else to qualify! Still it's fun just to try.

Cole's younger brother, Ladd, also competed in the long drive competition. He got knocked out just before Cole hit. He hit it 334 though - a great shot! It's fun to watch the brothers do things like this together!

And there's my guy...look how cute he is! I love watching him compete! He thrives under pressure!

Aww, there are my cute kids again! The whole time we were in Panguitch, we didn't do hair and wore our grubbies! We had to change and get presentable again before we could go to the Long drive competition! I'd almost forgotten how cute they were!

Unfortunately the Long Driver's of America were on fire that day and so Cole's 347 didn't hold up. He was knocked out a few guys later, but still qualified in the closest to the hole competition! From here it was off to softball at 8:30 and 9:30.
